New Clinics: Stephan Kiesewetter in the USA

Stephan Kiesewetter, former deputy director of the German Reitschule(riding school) Warendorf and current training manager and sales manager at Wintermühle, is on clinic tour from Buffalo to California. He is offering his long-time friends not only German know-how but also high class horses.

Wintermühle, Neu-Anspach - Buffalo, New York, Orange County and Santa Rosa, California – This is not a holiday vacation for Stephan Kiesewetter. From February 9th to the 23rd will be two weeks of hard work for him. Clinic participants and buyers are expecting him.

Last summer Beatrice Marineau bought the 13-year-old “Reve de Neige” with Grand-Prix experience, and the 10-year-old “Quirinius”, experienced in Inter 1and on the way to the Grand Prix. Both black horses are Oldenburg geldings from “Rosenzauber” and “Quando Qando”. Yurie Pascarelli bought “Fläming”, a 9-year-old Grand Prix experienced, brown Saxony gelding from “Festival Westalia”. Christine Sosko bought the 7-year-old dark brown Westfalia gelding “Donut” from “Don Bedo” as her own Christmas gift. The day before Christmas Eve Christine came to Wintermühle and chose her new dream horse for M and S tournaments.

“After the strenuous time travelling and time in quarantine, I will ride the horse two or three days to get them slowly adjusted, since I do know them the best,” said Kiesewetter. “After that the horses and their new owners will take part in my clinics. The advantage is that they can get used to each other and in case of problems, I am there to help.” It is not as easy to get riding lessons in the USA as in Germany, says Kiesewetter who regularly holds clinics there. Riders and horses often have to travel for hours for only one hour of lessons. Training for riders and horses is therefore not as systematic as in Germany. He is in regular contact with his clinic participants and can often discuss and solve problems. “Of course it is much better for everyone if the trainer is on site, especially when a new dressage team starts working successfully together. That is why Beatrice, Yurie and Christine initially waited for the shipment of their horses,” stated the former deputy director of the Germany Reitschule in Warendorf.
